Caivano is a young Spanish artist graduated at the Royal Academy of Arts.
He paints in dry tones from specific source materials, frequently rendered in a rough, methodical manner that lend them a dream-like or visionary quality. His work refers to famous artists of the past such as Goya, Ribera, Titian and El Greco with their depictions of the sacred and profane.
The quality of paintings is really sophisticated and elegant and the choice and combination of colours suggests an airy and evanescent atmosphere although he uses materic browny nuances connected with the idea of Earth and the ground as a physic status.
Human beings are depicted in every canvas appearing as a struggleing connection between the ground and the sky, matter and spirit, humanity and divinity.
