London is one of the great world centres of contemporary art, so if you find yourself in London, why not experience it for yourself in your own environment? It’s a great way to learn more about contemporary art and culture and develop your own eye. If you are thinking about starting a collection, borrowing first art is a low cost, low risk way to discover what you like best.

It works like this. We visit your premises; get a feel for your space, your budget, and the kind of art you like. We get in contact with our participating artists to see what is available (or we may already have it in our Shoreditch gallery). We then propose a few options for each location in your premises, and you can preview it in the flesh if you like.

When we have it sorted to your satisfaction we arrange the transportation, install the art, and leave you with your beautiful new collection to enjoy. If you want to make a change, we sort it out promptly and find something else to love. After about 9 months, we recommend you start thinking about trying something new, either by the same artist(s) or new artists. If you decide to buy one of the artwork, a portion of your fees apply towards the purchase.

London on Loan collaborates with artists that are willing to lend their artworks on a short-to-medium term basis (3 months to a year). This allows you to gain exposure to a wide range of contemporary art, make your own decisions and develop your collecting expertise and interests over time. As most collections become more focused over time, borrowing provides a low cost, low risk way to start yours. (Or you may decide to have temporary exhibitions forever).
