Vanishing Point

Jay Battle
- Vanishing Point looks a little like a mythical sea creature's shell that has, perhaps, been washed up from Thames below. Jay Battle has polished the stone to reveal the natural, lined core. Vanishing Point came to Canary Wharf as part of the Millennium exhibition Shape of the Century. Having trained as a stone mason in Canada, Jay Battle came to England to study stone carving. In 1997 he became Head Carver at Salisbury Cathedral where he contributes to its constant restoration works at the same time as running his own studio.
