For nine days, local residents and visitors will be invited to experience an extensive programme of exhibitions, events, workshops, talks, walks, open studios, screenings, live art and family activities as Camberwell throws open its doors.

The Camberwell Arts Festival is a celebration of the thriving cultural scene in SE5 and its surrounding area and this annual festival has become a regular and popular feature in South London.

Themes of the 2008 Festival include Camberwell 'Green' - a green art trail throughout the urban environment, the Camberwell Arts Pub Crawl - showcasing new work that explores the role of the pub in British cultural life, and various walks and talks - including guided visits to local artists' studios.
Throughout the period of the Festival, work by the best in emerging young talent will also be on display at Camberwell College of Arts’ Summer Show. Next door, one of London's leading contemporary art galleries, the South London Gallery, presents Heralded as the New Black by Ryan Gander.

Find out more about what will be happening during the Camberwell Arts Festival 2008, and how you can get involved as a volunteer at: http://www.camberwellarts.org.uk/camberwell-arts-festival-2008

The Festival is a partnership between local artists and arts organisations and is initiated by Camberwell Arts, Camberwell College of Arts and South London Gallery.
