Chadwick has produced many pieces with figures in various positions, following in the tradition of sculptor Henry Moore. Chadwick began his career as an architectural draughtsman, but after the Second World War took up sculpture. He established his international reputation when he won the International Prize for sculpture at the 1956 Venice Biennale, and is now considered one of Britain's leading sculptors.
