Bianca Brunner's series of photographs entitled 'Hotel Vacation', deals with the concept of time and memory, and the notion of vacating associated with hotel rooms. Shot in an abandoned hotel near Zurich they provoke collective memories and function as 'emblems of an uncanny remembrance'.

Going beyond accessing and examining a found world, Brunner reworks the spaces through small interventions to make the past graspable through the present; by opening the door a bit more or by placing a basket or a person. Furthermore, her mediation seeks to create a suspended moment, to think about something gone by.
