This show brings together twelve artists exploring the public and private faces of intimacy and its curious, compulsive obsessions.

Roped together, two carrier-bag toting protagonists travel through the dark landscape of Sam Dargan's painting. Nurcan Ozagi photographs intimacy as a slip into the unexpected - as incongruous as an oiled bodybuilder sharing the frame with a comfortably seated matriarch.

Sophie Horton's wool sculpture draws a playful intimate space with a pulsing red glow while Eleanor Moreton's reflective paintings of her grandmother’s house and Lily Markiewicz's photographs look at spaces containing traces of a past intimacy – the domestic drifts into the uncanny.

Debbie Booth's collaged texts sourced from the London Review of Books reveal in their annotations the painful articulations of the heart.

Jost Münster's quietly considered abstract work makes a series of subtle and binding connections just as Suky Best’s sequential images suggest losing and finding intimacy as one inevitable action.

Each artist demonstrates how the intimate space implies the passage of time, of a knowing based on observation, study or experience. They also convey how familiarity might just tip over into something more disturbing.
