People yearn to be close to nature, but industrialization and technology have increasingly endangered our natural habitat, and in our minds we have private places for our most vivid feelings, memories and imaginations, My paintings try to express an ideal nature as found in meaning and imagination, and try to waken people to re-examine the relationship between themselves and the nature around us.

My recent series “The Reflection” and “Ideal Jungles” derived from the nature of our current environments, work with both personal expression and direct observation, including both abstraction and realism, fantasy and the photographic picture of surrounding places. The works express the visual pleasure of the picturesque and the dark unknown which the natural world already presents to us, exploring the boundaries between figuration and abstraction, reality and imagination, memories and dreams, the “inside” world of feelings and ideals and the “outside” world of our environment. Moreover, I hope my work can comfort people or to provoke thoughts in a world where we are more isolated from nature and our natural environment is deteriorating.
